In Their Own Words
Lim Siew Ting
Johor Bahru · Divorce Assistance
I did not know where to start when my marriage ended. Zainab explained everything clearly without making me feel rushed or judged. The process took a few months but I always knew what was happening. Fees were exactly as discussed — no hidden costs.

Ahmad Hafizuddin
Skudai · Child Arrangements
Farid helped negotiate a custody arrangement that genuinely works for my children. He was honest with me about what was realistic — not just what I wanted to hear. The other side eventually agreed to terms we could all live with, without going to court.

Roshani Balakrishnan
Johor Bahru · Family Guidance Session
I came in for just the consultation session and left feeling so much more settled. I had expected to be pushed into signing up for more services but that did not happen at all. The information I received let me make my own decisions. I did return later for further help, and the quality was consistent.

Wong Yee Lin
Kulai · Divorce Assistance
A friend recommended Setia Bicara when I was going through my separation. The thing that stood out was how calm the process felt despite everything being so emotional at home. Nadia kept me informed and made scheduling easy around my work.

Mohd Shafiq
Johor Bahru · Child Arrangements
Farid was very focused on what was best for my daughter throughout. He did not encourage me to fight on points that were not important — he kept the attention on what would actually benefit her. I feel the arrangement we reached is genuinely workable and fair.

Pasir Gudang · Family Guidance Session
I was very nervous before the consultation — I did not know whether I even had grounds for the action I was considering. Zainab answered my questions patiently and without making me feel like I was wasting her time. The session gave me the information I needed to think clearly.

How We Have Helped Families Move Forward
All details are illustrative and do not refer to identifiable individuals.
The Situation
A couple had been separated informally for two years. Both wanted to finalise the divorce but had reached an impasse on the division of a jointly-owned property and could not agree on how to proceed.
What We Did
We prepared and filed the petition, then facilitated a series of correspondence exchanges focused on reaching a consent order on the property. A mediator was brought in for two sessions, and a joint agreement was reached without a contested hearing.
The Outcome
The divorce was finalised with a consent order governing the property. Both parties avoided a contested hearing and the costs associated with it. The process took approximately five months from first consultation to decree.
The Situation
A parent sought clearer arrangements for school-holiday access after informal agreements with their former spouse consistently broke down. The children, aged 8 and 11, had expressed clear preferences about how they wished to spend time with each parent.
What We Did
We drafted a detailed access schedule that incorporated the children's stated preferences and included provisions for public holidays and school breaks. This was put to the other party as a draft consent order with supporting correspondence setting out the welfare considerations.
The Outcome
The other party agreed to the proposed schedule, and a consent order was filed and approved by the court. The client reported that the arrangements had been followed consistently in the months since.
The Situation
A client was considering whether to commence divorce proceedings but was uncertain about the grounds available to them and how proceedings would affect their children's schooling arrangements and the jointly-held family home.
What We Did
We held a 90-minute guidance session covering the legal grounds available, the likely approach the court would take regarding the matrimonial home, and how custody arrangements typically work in cases involving school-age children. No pressure was applied regarding next steps.
The Outcome
The client decided they needed more time before taking action and appreciated having an honest picture of what proceedings would involve. They returned six months later ready to proceed, with clear expectations already in place.
